My name is Nathan Chiume and I’m a financial and economic observer currently based in New York City. I work in an asset management division of a major global bank. My profesional background is in Finance, Investments and Business Administration.
The aim of this blog is to inform and educate readers on the financial, business and economic developments in Africa, particularly Tanzania and the East Africa region. In the longrun, “Tanzanian Common Cents” hopes to fill the void that currently exists and become a notable gateway of weekly financial information for business investors, prospectors, entrepreneurs, stakeholders and political decision makers.
Apart from finance and economy, this blog will also provide periodic commentary on issues such as entrepreneurship, business formalization, political risk analysis, current political and investment climate, microfinance, poverty aleviation, trade negotiations and globalization.
My other personal interests include reading, travel and photography.
